Southwest Public Schools has been chosen as one of the recipients of the Teacher Incentive Allotment, in support of TEA & Local Designated Teachers! This is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our amazing SWPS community.
Southwest Public Schools has recently been announced as one of the recipients of the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA), a program designed to support teachers and improve the quality of education in Texas. I want to personally thank each and every TIA committee member who met biweekly over the past seven months to develop our Local Designation System. I also want to thank every teacher who completed the TIA Survey and provided input!
This is fantastic news for the teachers and staff of SWPS, who have worked tirelessly to provide the best possible education to our students.
The TIA program is a partnership between the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and local designated teachers, with the goal of recognizing and rewarding effective teachers. The program provides financial incentives to teachers who demonstrate strong leadership, student growth, and instructional excellence.
In fact, ALL SWPS' teachers will have an opportunity to earn an additional $26,551 beginning August 5, 2025! This is a significant achievement for the entire SWPS' community.
The TIA program recognizes the vital role that teachers play in shaping the future of our state and our nation, and it provides much-needed support and recognition to those who make a difference in the lives of their students.
We will begin the data capture year during the 2023-2024 school year, and teachers will participate in training this August. Stay tuned for more exciting TIA news!
Once again, congratulations, to the teachers and staff of Southwest Public Schools on this well-deserved recognition. Your dedication to your students and your commitment to excellence are an inspiration to us all. Way to go SWPS!
